Newman-Dailey Resort Properties hosted a My Beach Memories Photo Contest through the summer of 2019 and it was great to see all the great family moments and beautiful scenic vistas. Our team enjoyed reliving our guests’ experiences through their stories and images. With 263 storytellers, there were a vast array of special memories with loved ones and friends along Florida’s Emerald Coast. Our guest shared stories of time with family and friends along Destin and South Walton's beaches.
There were many incredible submissions, it would have been hard to choose just three winners. Fortunately, the first and second place winners were calculated by a mathematical equation and the entries with the most POINTS won. Our third place winner was the staff pick for best story and photo that represented the moment. Here's our winning entries for 2019:
FIRST PLACE
Our first place winner is Guinn Shingleton.
His entry read:
“We stayed with our four year old grandson at the Beachside Inn at Destin when we met our family from Indiana. Even though the weather was cool, the beach was still beautiful. You can make memories any time of the year in Destin!”
SECOND PLACE
Our second place winner was Abigail Hoskins. Her entry read:
“Destin is so special to us as we honeymooned in 2016 and we’re able to bring back our daughter in 2018! Tropical Storm Gordon rained on most of our beach time, so we are hoping to bring Harper back so she can see Destin in all its glory! Regardless of the rain and clouds, we had a great family vacation and survived a road trip from Rockford, IL with a toddler!”
THIRD PLACE
Our third place winner was Christie Sylvester. Her entry read:
“Dear Beach, I think of you all the time… This was Christmas Day. My family watching the sunset. I ran back to get the camera and it was just the perfect picture. Best day ever (we live in Minnesota).”
