Destin provides a scenic setting that inspires songs, movies, novels, and most recently, a children’s book. Based upon Author Angel Kitts’ stay at the Beachside Inn in Crystal Beach, the new children’s book, Buddy Goes Beachside, is playful tale of a Destin beach vacation through the eyes of a Maltese pup. Beachside Inn and Camille’s Café will host Author Angel Kitts for a special appearance and booking signing on June 30 from 3-5 p.m. &

What a sight! We were able to join locals and tourists alike to see the release of Mars, a 121 lb. loggerhead sea turtle, get released into the wild at Henderson Beach on May 19th. The 21-year old Mars was found stranded off of Perdido Key on December 29, 2015. She was in bad condition and was missing her left rear flipper, and had barnacles and red algae all over her back. She was taken to the Gulfarium C.A.R.E. Center on
